How to make it big from Nothing and Nowhere

I was in Barnes and Noble the other day standing in line and at the checkout my eyes locked on the latest issue of Forbes with Ashton Kutcher on the cover. Upon closer inspection, the title was

So interested, I picked it up. I brought it home and read it. It was about a couple of investors in the world of tech financing who are hitting it big homerun style. Ashton himself has turned 30 million into 250 million. Another guy was working with Madonna at a record label in the late 90s early 2000s and now is making bank alongside of Kutchers group. They are networked, they know people, and most importantly, they got thier start up money from working in Mass Media.
So: people like Ashton, while clearly very smart, had opportunities that the average guy does not.
1. Was good looking, so while at college in Iowa was scouted and this led to being a Calvin Klein model
2. Which led to him getting an agent which led to being cast on 'That 70's show"
3. Which eventually had him being on a hit show and earning 150- 200,000 dollars an episdode (weekly)
4. Which had him assemble a hollywood team with the goal of making him a huge star which led to
5. Him starting his own production company and producing and starring in the show 'Punk'd"
6. Which led to some movie roles and more $
7. Which led to a high profile relationship to a famous actress, Demi Moore, which led to further publicity
8. Which led to further movie rolls and more $
9. Which led him to access to Hollywood connections that had Financial connections because Finance guys
like to hobknob with the 'popular people', or Hollywood guys: His fame got him facetime with the players
10. Which led to him investing with superior inside track information
11. Which in turn caused him to further increase his connections and access to people/product/startups and making even more money with his money.

As you can see from reading the above list, its like a small snowball that started rolling down the hill and becoming a huge unstoppable boulder as it increased size while picking up speed.
You can even say that Ashton had all the breaks. Yes he worked hard, but he worked smart and leveraged what he had; His looks. Being better looking than most guys worked out pretty good for him. However, he also has a high I.Q, he at one time was in school to be an engineer. Having very good looks and a big IQ is a pretty handy combination, and especially when one gets the ball rolling and achieving fame and money, it can be a very weatlhy pathway. The path that Ashton took to his money is about the same odds that it takes to win a multi state powerball. 1 in 265 million to one. You arent going to achieve this way in.

But what about the average dude who does not get into mass media? I wrote about this in an earlier post...most people work on a 1:1 earnings ratio. That is, they produce one thing and get paid as they produce one thing. Such as a sandwhich maker at Subway. Someone orders a sandwich, and they make the sandwhich and there is a financial transaction. Everytime money is to be earned, they have to produce a repeatable action in order to get paid. Over and over.

Mass Media is different. Instead of working at a 1:1 ratio, the work at a 1: 10,000,000 ratio. Brad Pitt makes a movie one time, he works on it for a few months. When he is done, the film print is reproduced thousands and thousands of times, marketed, promoted and distributed in theaters all over the world. Millions of people shell out 10 bucks to see this movie. The movie makes 500,000,000 million dollars worldwide. Brad Pitt earns 10,000,000 million dollars to act in the movie. Even higher if he produces it. Its a far more efficient way to earn money...instead of repeating an action over and over again to get paid for each action (like making sandwhiches) he does something once and this action muliplies virally while he gets paid for the over and over of this product being sold to consumers. Its far less work for WAY more of a return.
This is why people want to be movie starts and rock stars. You are famous, you make enormous amounts of money (than say working in a hot factory) for considerably less work (than say working in a hot factory).

However: You need looks, charisma, talant, and luck to make it big in Mass Media. 97% of all actors do not work in thier chosen field. The majority of them are waiting tables in Los Angeles waiting for thier big break that in all likelyhood isnt going to happen. There simply is far too little slots for movie starts that the public is ready to pay for. The same goes for music starts. You better have the talent, the song writing ability, and the looks. Notice that all the big female stars are extremely easy on the eyes. Taylor Swift, Rhianna, Katy Perry. It just aids in the marketing of the singers.

So lets say you are 47 years old and never really plugged into anything, started and stopped a few careers, maybe drove a truck and now you pretty much have nothing. What do you do? Well first thing is that you are very much in a majority of people in the United States. Most of the people in the country are not rich and not famous. And most people have no idea how to make money and break out from thier 9 to 5 job.

You are going to need money to start

You will find that you are going to need something to begin with. Now I am going to assume that you have no credit cards, no line of credit, and are broke living at home with your parents. Here is your pathway.

1. Start working from home with Mechanical Turk. Look at my link here at how to go from making 20 dollars a day to 50 dollars a day.

2. I found a gambling hack that you can use at the casino. I call it statistical compression. It takes 500 dollars to start, you can read about this whole thing in my post here.

3. I suggest that you go into an industry that has the 1% by the balls: A computer/network technician. All companies need technicians to work thier computers. I show you how to get into this industry here.

4. Here is something else you can do on the side, write a book and sell it on Kindle to make some nice money on the side. But you cant just upload a book to Kindle and expect it to take off...there are some specific steps you need to take. read about it here in order to start making a thousand a week.

Now that you have a few grand on the side, you are going to have to learn how to invest your money. I will show you how to do that here. The way I do it is very specific and very profitable.

Now at this point you are making 10-20K a month and its time to put your thinking cap on. What businesses can you start?
